Our next stop is Fertőd, where we'll visit the Esterhazy Palace, also known as the Hungarian Versailles. The palace has over 100 rooms, including a stunning ballroom and a library. The palace also has a beautiful French-style garden and a maze.
From Eisenstadt, we'll travel to Burg Forchtenstein, a fortress that was once used as a military stronghold by the Esterhazy family. The castle is located on a steep hill and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. One of the most interesting features of the castle is its impressive arsenal. The Esterhazy family was known for its love of weapons, and the arsenal at Burg Forchtenstein is one of the largest and most well-preserved in Europe. Here, you'll see an impressive collection of medieval weapons, including swords, armor, and crossbows.
